What is a lithium battery?


A lithium battery is a battery that uses lithium ions to move back and forth between positive and negative electrodes to store and release electrical energy.

Lithium batteries usually consist of positive electrode, negative electrode, electrolyte and separator. Among them, the positive electrode usually uses compounds such as lithium cobalt oxide, lithium iron phosphate, or lithium nickel cobalt manganate, the negative electrode usually uses materials such as graphite or silicon, and the electrolyte usually uses an organic solution or polymer electrolyte.

Lithium batteries have the advantages of high energy density, long service life, low self-discharge rate, and environmental protection, and are widely used in electronic products, electric vehicles, energy storage and other fields.

However, lithium batteries also have some problems, such as overcharge, over-discharge, short circuit, high temperature and other problems that can cause the battery to burn or explode. Therefore, corresponding safety measures need to be taken to protect the safe use of lithium batteries.
