The difference between ternary lithium battery and lithium iron phosphate battery

The difference between these two lithium batteries is that the materials written are different, that is to say, the lithium iron phosphate battery uses lithium iron phosphate as the positive electrode, and the ternary lithium battery mainly uses nickel-cobalt-aluminum or nickel-cobalt-manganese as the positive electrode.
What they have in common is that graphene is used as the negative electrode material at the same time, and the difference is that they are not the same for the positive electrode material.
Second, the difference between ternary lithium battery and lithium iron phosphate battery

  1. The service life is different
The cycle life of lithium iron phosphate battery is better than that of ternary lithium battery. The general ternary lithium battery has a nominal cycle of about 2000 times, but when it is used for no more than 1000 times, its capacity will decay to half up.
The lithium iron phosphate battery is also used for 1000 cycles, and its capacity generally only decays to about 20%.
  2. Different energy densities
The energy density of ternary lithium batteries is higher than that of lithium iron phosphate batteries. The level of energy density means the battery life. For batteries with the same capacity, the volume of lithium iron phosphate is much larger than that of ternary lithium batteries.
  3. Different low temperature resistance
The low temperature resistance of ternary lithium battery is better than that of lithium iron phosphate battery. For example, at minus 20 degrees, the ternary lithium battery can release about 70% of the power, while the lithium iron phosphate battery is at the same low temperature. Only about 50% of the power can be released.
  4. Different security
The thermal stability of lithium iron phosphate battery is higher than that of ternary lithium battery, relatively speaking, lithium iron phosphate battery is safer.
  5. The price is different
One of the positive electrode materials used in the ternary lithium battery is cobalt, and the price is actually quite expensive, so the cost of the ternary lithium battery is much more expensive than lithium iron phosphate.
